Mrs. Johnson-Thomas began touching the lives of youth at risk over 20 years ago. She began as a paraprofessional in 1997 working with some of Los Angeles’ toughest youth with mild/moderate disabilities. 

After receiving a degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Literacy (2005), a Credential in Special Education and a Master’s Degree in Education (2008) in the area of Curriculum and Instruction, she became the Assistant Director of a well-known Non-Public School. Kimberly Johnson-Thomas decided to follow her own dreams (Epiphany) in January 2014.

Since then she has held the role of Educational Director at Epiphany Academy NPS, in Compton, CA. She is an active member of the National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) as well as the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD). As an administrator, an instructor and a motivator to her students, her educational philosophy is that… 

“If I only teach my students the material needed in order to pass a test, then I only take care of them for one day. However, if I teach them how to seek knowledge and how to love learning then I prepare them for a lifetime.”
